Changing your “point of view” of the problem gives a different perspective and allow you to “reformulate” the problem and consider “other solution opportunities” that may yield new and novel ideas. This method, used in Step 4 (Concept Generation) uses 11 different perspectives to guide the mind to new possibilities. Each of the 11 perspectives do at least one of the following: 1) Understand the situation better, 2) Reformulate the problem, 3) Solve problems, or 4) Generate new ideas. This technique can be used in steps 1 and 4 in our Systematic Innovation Process.
