“Function or Situation Analysis” is Step 2 of our Systematic Innovation Process and it is where Function Analysis and Modeling take place. Functional thinking is a profound way to analyze a situation with Elements and Links. There are at least 6 really good reasons to think “functionally” including:
- Understanding your situation better to discover new problems and root causes
- Reducing your psychological inertia
- Reveal “Standard Problems”
- Being able to “Re-formulate” tough problems for optimum solvability.
- Surface Future Problems
- Improving communication
